Steel is Flying!

It’s exciting times on the Deer Valley #31 jobsite!

The stone masons are going vertical on the last building – Building 200, which holds the gym and cafeteria. We expect masonry to be complete on all buildings within two weeks! The steel contractor is flying steel¬† – this means they’re using a crane to get it to the top and to place it – on Building 400. Once the steel is inspected, the decking crew will begin spreading deck on the 2nd floor then the roof. Our steel crew is also installing the stairs on the north side of Building 300.

The interior work has begun on Building 300. We have insulators, framers, electricians, plumbers, fire sprinkler fitters and HVAC contractors all working on their overhead work on the 1st and 2nd floors. The site utility contractor has completed the sewer line around the building and will begin working on the fire line, leaving just domestic water and storm drain to be installed between the buildings.

Our friends at Sonoran Hills also competed in their Lego League competition after months of preparation and practice.

If you remember, in October, the Robotics team visited the Deer Valley School #31 job site to take a tour, learn about construction and ask questions of the project team in preparation for their project! In December, the Robotics invited CHASSE’s Deer Valley #31 team to their school to preview their idea for the competition.

It’s been great to help them through the process and see them compete. They even won a trophy for their teamwork! Congrats to Ms. Crawley and the Sonoran Foothills Robotics Team!
